Creating for online apps and other companies over the years has taught me a lot but I’m excited to say I now create the way I love most; expressing my love of nature with complete freedom.
Because I’ve worked with literally every art medium available, I find myself skipping around like a grasshopper from abstracts to florals to vintage historical styles and boho. I love all art and it’s very subjective so I’m lucky in so much as I don’t (or I should say, can’t) restrict myself to a limited niche style as many artists can.
Pattern design for wallpapers and fabrics is a love I’ve had since I was a child. I won lots of competitions in those early years due to an amazing art teacher who so inspired me. I still get messy with a paintbrush and many of my designs start like this, or with a pencil and paper while travelling.
It hasn’t always been so easy though.
As a single parent without any physical or financial help from literally anyone, my priority had to be earning a steady wage. Working full time and tending to the needs of three children meant I wasn’t able to fully explore my first love in my own way until they had grown up. Now, it’s like a dream come true for me. I appreciate I’m able to do this my way and I take nothing for granted.
My life is calmer and easier, I get to create art for me (and you!). I meditate, do my garden, cook and read. I was almost 40 when I met my husband, and he was well worth waiting for, dare I say, the best in the world?

Currently I only create collections of repeat pattern design for wallpaper and textiles. I showcase and sell my work via Spoonflower as they create high quality products.
